Winterizations

Professional winterizations across the Lower Mainland

Comprehensive winterization protects your pipes from freeze damage and prevents costly spring repairs, performed by experienced technicians with professional equipment.

In the Fraser Valley, freezing winter temperatures are the single biggest threat to an irrigation system. Any water left sitting in your pipes, valves, and backflow device can freeze, expand, and crack, leading to burst lines, ruined components, and expensive spring repairs. A professional sprinkler winterization, or ‘blow out,’ clears that water out before the cold arrives. It’s a small, seasonal service that protects a significant investment, and we provide it for homes and businesses across Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Surrey, Langley, Burnaby, Vancouver, Coquitlam, and the Lower Mainland.

The Details

What our winterizations involves

A closer look at how we deliver winterizations that lasts.

1
Why sprinkler winterization matters here

Our region sees enough hard frosts each winter to do real damage to an unprotected system. When water freezes inside a pipe it expands with enough force to split the pipe wall, crack valve bodies, and damage backflow preventers. Those repairs are far more costly than the winterization that prevents them, and they often aren’t discovered until spring, when you turn the system on and find leaks and failures. Winterizing your sprinkler system each fall is the simplest, most affordable way to avoid that damage and extend the life of your irrigation system.

2
Calibrated low-pressure sprinkler blow out

We use professional compressed-air equipment to clear water from the system, carefully controlling the pressure so we remove the water without damaging heads, valves, or fittings. Each zone is blown out in turn until the lines are clear. Doing this properly takes the right equipment and experience, too much pressure can be as damaging as the freeze itself, which is why a professional sprinkler blow out is well worth it compared to a DIY attempt.

3
Controller, valve, and backflow protection

Beyond clearing the lines, we set your controller to its winter or ‘off’ mode, handle batteries where needed, and document your settings so spring start-up is smooth. Valves are drained, and your backflow preventer is drained, and where appropriate insulated or removed and stored, so it survives the winter intact and stays compliant with local code. Complete winterization protects every vulnerable part of your irrigation system, not just the pipes.

4
Winterization for residential and commercial properties
From a single residential lawn to a large commercial or strata property, we winterize irrigation systems of every size. For property managers, we can document the work and schedule it as part of an ongoing seasonal maintenance plan or membership, so the fall blow out never gets missed and your landscape investment stays protected year after year.
